SEGUN ABE: THE EFFECT OF SEX ON YOUR VISION, LIFE, FUTURE, DESTINY, BODY, SUCCESS, ETC. [PART 1]

………THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM THE SHOOL OF IMPACT(SOI)
Topic: “Sex and Vision
Speaker: Pastor Segun Abe
Date: July 12 2015

Introduction

It was another beautiful Sunday afternoon, the atmosphere was perfect, the Holy Spirit was present and our hearts were packed full with expectations. You could see it in the way eyes shone bright in the semi-lighted room. Our notepads were out and we were ready for the teaching- SEX and Vision.
The teaching session started with Pastor Segun explaining that this teaching is important for everyone but more especially people who counsel teenagers and youths on pre-marital sex and its dangers. It gives us an understanding of WHY sex before marriage is wrong. We have always handled the issue of fornication from a shallow religious perspective, not really knowing what it entails. Pastor Segun mentioned this and more in his introduction.
Pastor Segun made us understand that if you don't have understanding, you cannot coach people about this issue and until you go behind the veil and know what actually takes place, what exactly it is, that's the time you'll be able to teach people about these things. He also said that it is one area that if you can have strength there, you can have strength anywhere.
Pastor Segun laid the foundation of the message perfectly. He then took us through the book of Acts and showed us in Acts 15:20 two types of sin- Idolatry and fornication- How that of all the laws that have been abolished by the new covenant in Christ Jesus, these 2 laws remained. What was it about that instruction that the apostles gave to the Gentiles, that after sending a letter in verse 20 of chapter 15, telling them to abstain from pollution of idols and from fornication, they sent Judas and Silas to tell them the same thing by word of mouth to still emphasize the issue in verse 27 to 29. Pastor Segun showed us in verse 28, that the apostles told the gentiles in their letter that they were not just saying things in their own design, but that the Holy Ghost inspired them. 'For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay on you no greater burden, than these necessary things'. He also told us that 'Necessary things' here meant that if your sojourn would move well, some things are not an option, but a necessity - Worship only God and FLEE FORNICATION! From which if you keep yourself, you 'WILL' do well. He then made a statement that there are mistakes you can make, but if your body is sexually pure, you have an ability to recover from it, but if your body is not pure, you can only see yourself going down.
Pastor Segun then said that based on his interactions with people, he has come to understand that if there is a sin that makes you talk the Holy Ghost, but not function in him, it's fornication. Whereby you'll have the ability to explain scriptures, but no power in your life. So that's the reason why church population is not kingdom population, due to prevalence of sexual impurity amongst many church goers.
He also made us see that of all the weapons the devil can use, he keeps using 'sexual sin ', which is sexual reorientation. No matter the tongues you speak, if your temple is not clean, there is no access to great heavenly realms. So that if a believer was given the option of either stealing or fornication, it is so bad that though the two are sin, the believer shouldn't choose fornication- because whatever is lost in stealing, a body that is pure will recover it, but if a temple is dirty, your destiny can be leaving you and you can only look at it, but you can't salvage it.
He showed us in Acts 21:25, the same message about worshiping only God and fleeing fornication. For this instruction to appear again, that means it's very pivotal to our success as believers against every attack. But why? Are there no other sins? Should they steal? Should they lie? Should they fight? Why the emphasis on fornication?
In 1 Cor 6:13-20, Pastor Segun showed us that our body is either for fornication or for God and that if it is for fornication, then it is not for the Lord. Now the issue is this, if it is not for the Lord it is for who? ..... (Fill in the blank spaces). He explained that that's the reason why a lot of people have unhindered access from demons. He went on to say that if fornication has your body, that the Lord has lost it, and if the Lord has lost it, then who has it?? The devil! Pastor Segun explained that this is the source of several attacks on people, not to talk of different incurable diseases.
He further explained that there is a spiritual realm where if you understand how things go, you'll live your life in a particular way of discipline.
Pastor Segun made us understand that as believers, we are divinely protected by unseen forces, so things don't just happen. He further explained that vision can preserve and the reason why people run their lives like they don't have a compass is because they don't have a vision, that if you are a man of vision, you are likened to a man sent on a mission by the president to another country with the presidential jet and authority of the president. Bottom line, you cannot be sent and be alone.
Back to the reading in 1 Cor 6: 13-20, Pastor Segun mentioned that fornication is done in the body and not just mind or spirit and that the power to experience the victory of Christ can be found in sexual purity. He explained that he that is joined unto the Lord (living in sexual purity based on an understanding of your godly relationship) is one spirit (mentality). He said that is why there are a lot of unwise Christians because if you're not joined to the Lord, you don't have one mentality and you become argumentative, yet in error (argue a perspective, yet it’s not of God), because he that is joined unto God is one mind. Why? your body is the temple, and your temple is the access zone so if the temple is pure and somewhere He can come into, you have one mind, he drops ideas, you understand ideas. If the place is not pure, access is not there, you can only see him above, but there's no access, you only have things you want to do but have no idea of how to do them.
He explained that every sin is sin and that every sin a man does is outside his body but the sin of fornication is against his own body. 'Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you?' That means He can be in you, but not in the temple! To further buttress this, Pastor Segun showed us the difference between a temple and a synagogue, according to him, a synagogue is a Jewish centre for teaching, praying and worship but beyond that, a temple is meant purely for sacrificial worship where it is just you and God. He explained that that's why a Christian can live in fornication and tell you spiritual things, because the Holy Spirit is in them, but when it comes to exploits, something is missing - no power! - Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. Their lives deny power!
He explained that when we were saved, everything in us was bought that we are not our own. He explained that our body is more spiritual than we think and if we understand this, a lot of things would get clear to us.
In a bid to further explain this, he explained that spiritual realities are different from physical realities, that is why we can know that our God owns the world but there's no money in your pocket. Spiritually, it is a reality that you're seated with Christ, but how did sickness find its way in you?
Now, this is the issue, what is in your spirit needs the cooperation of the purity of your flesh to manifest! The two things matter for the full expression of God. But sexual impurity- fornication and adultery hinders your ideas from turning into action and this can lead to frustrations. He made us understand that if the things that are inside would come out, that the body must cooperate. The body matters for what is in the spirit to find expression. He then went ahead to tell us what makes this thing fornication? Why did God tell men to have sexual activity only in marriage?
In Gen 2:22-24, Pastor Segun showed us why fornication is a sin. He said that when God brought Eve to Adam, he became very happy and he couldn't say no, he went ahead to her and they got married. When all that happened, God gave an instruction to nature saying that was the order he was setting that a man would leave his mother and father and shall join to his wife and they shall become one flesh. God is the origin of family and he is not a fan of running away with him / her to get married. In his original plan he instituted marriage such that after the parents have risen up their children to a marriageable age, there would be a smooth transition to another family and not eloping, but the parents being part of their children's happy exit for marriage. So anytime anyone goes against this plan, it’s against God's will. After this, based on God's principles, you belong to each other. When God said this is the pattern, then that's the way it should go, anything outside this is sin.
Furthermore, Pastor Segun told us the effects of sinful sex- fornication and adultery. He introduced this by telling us that exploits are achieved from inside to outside. That is, the body needs to work with the spirit and everything we do is an expression of the spirit to the body. Now, the problem arises when the outside is blocked spiritually through sexual sin, then there's little you can do. It is your body that relates with your world and if your outside is weak, you are weak to conquer your world, no matter how strong the inner man is. He explained the gravity of this sin by liking it to a man who is hale and hearty and an orange was taken from him, obviously, the man would run after the thief and get his orange back. But a person on crutches would not be able to do same. If the orange was taken from him, he would cry and weep, but he won't get it back. That's how a person involved in sexual sin is. He then followed this statement with a question, 'If God forgives, why the devil keeps tempting? Doesn't he get tired?' He told us that the devil's ministry is to steal, kill and destroy and that once he shows up, he must have stolen something and there are some things the devil steals that you won't be able to get back with an unclean body (the guy with the crutches). That’s why some people can't identify their purpose.
He promised to explain this further in the next meeting.

FELA DUROTOYE: HOW TO BECOME THE WOMAN OF HIS DREAMS!

I want to say a huge “Thank you and God bless you” to everyone who made our Anniversary and my Birthday a special one.

Thanks for all the messages, email, sms and phone calls and prayers. May God bless you in ways you’ve never imagined and as I always say, may my greatest achievement be your least! I’m sure you know that I mean those words.

I was astounded to receive all the comments from readers of my “LOVE LETTER TO TARA”! At my last count, I had a total of 238 comments. That’s totally unprecedented for me!

I also had a lot of messages from the ladies who seemed awed by the fact that “a Nigerian man” had a romantic gene! The guys were shocked by my “lyrics” to Tara, (guys feel free to use any of those lines, lol!)

Quite a number of the ladies wanted to know how to find the right man for them as well, so this note is especially dedicated to every woman believing God for the right man.

Don’t worry guys, I’ll have one for you.

Ladies, why do you want to get married?

Is it because you’ve fantasized about the wedding day, or is it because your friends are getting married, or could it be pressure from family and friends who constantly remind you of the ticking of your biological clock? I assure you that those are all the wrong reasons to get married.
To many women fantasize about the WEDDING DAY, and don't prepare for the MARRIAGE.
The truth is, the marriage begins when the wedding ends.

So why then should you get married?

Forget the fairy tales, marriage is a covenant of two imperfect people coming together, committing their lives together forever, to create a union under God.

So what are the steps to getting the man of your dreams?

Step 1: Be the right woman:

What kind of wife would your dream husband be looking for?
Single ladies; please remember that as a woman thinks in her heart, so she “is”; not will be. Simply put, your thoughts, values, habits and words can tell any man, the kind of wife that you “are”, even though you are not married yet.

Step 2: Become a wife, while you’re waiting for a husband

Ladies, please recognize that “guys DATE chics and then go on to MARRY wives”. If the truth be told, there are too many Christian chics and too few Christian wives (or “wife material”) in Church today. Ask yourself, “am I a chic or a wife?” Who must I BE to attract who I WANT. Sweetheart, the man of your dreams isn’t hanging around in a bar or at a club, so what are you doing there?

Step 3: Who must be to attract who I want?

Write down the list of qualities that you want your husband to have. Now look at that list carefully. What have you written? God fearing, Intelligent, Good Communicator, Gainfully employed, Clean, Fun, has a car, apartment, has money etc.

Now, ask yourself, does your list consist more of “what he has” or “who he is”? If it’s driven by what he has, then, you may be driven by the external props and anybody can fake that. “Sharp” guys can borrow their friends’ cars, apartment, money etc, but the intangibles of “who he is” cannot be faked. Character, truth, integrity, passion can’t be faked.

If you want a God fearing man, are you God fearing? If you want an intelligent man, can you hold up your end of a conversation? You want a man who's gainfully employed, do you have a job?

When I began dating Tara, I was quick to inform her that I wasn’t looking for a girlfriend, but a wife. She thought that was the most unromantic thing I’d ever said, but she appreciated the fact that I was honest with her from the get go. Ladies, marry a man for “who he is”…even if the world hasn’t seen it yet; rather than for “what he has”, because what he has can be taken away from him, but who he is will be all that’s left.

When Tara and I began dating, I was living in a small “one room, room” where I had to share a communal toilet and bathroom with several families (one of my cooks used to be my neighbor). All my property (TV, electronics fridge, and other appliances) had been sown by instruction to build a campus ministry in OAU, Ife, called Eden. All I had left was a cane dustbin, a mattress and a carpet with a hole in the middle (which the bed thankfully covered).

But there was much more to me than what I didn’t seem to have. I was always talking about my vision, what our life would be, where I was taking her to and I was also TAKING ACTION STEPS to get us there. Ladies, beware of the man who only talks the talk, but doesn’t WALK THE WALK! He must have corresponding action with his words.

Sometime ago, about 3 years ago, Tara and I were invited to a TV interview, and the host asked me what was imperative for women to look for in a man. I remember saying. “Don’t marry a man for his “television”, marry a man who has vision and one day; his vision will put you on television”!

Watch out for the concluding part
